DJ Shankar's mix "Top" is an outstanding fusion of electronic funk and psychedelic groove. It has a steady beat and flow, while maintaining a consistent level of change and progression. The electro funk quality that permeates the set creates a sense of fun and excitement. This is a perfect counter balance for the psychedelic dream-like overtones that are also present. It’s an energetic journey filled with ethereal points of departure.
Shankar is also a co-founder of Shakti Collective, a Toronto based group devoted to promotion of quality progressive and psytrance events. Shankar also produces under the name Shadow Boxer in collaboration with Yeb / Anxiomata from Cold Groove Records. Expect fresh releases soon!
The mix airs everyday starting at 2 PM EST, and again for the rewind at 2 AM EST.
