I would have gone to samothraki festival, if they manage to put together a festival this or next year. I went there in 2003, and it was my biggest experience in my festival life. None festival have given me so much joy, than samothraki festival 2003. The location, the music, the headliners, the people, and the whole atmosphere couldn´t be better. I will never go back, just because I am afraid it will not be the same the second time :). Boom festival is a good, but a very huge festival. I went there last summer (2004). I had a good time, except it was unpleasantly hot during the festival. The only thing I did was waking up full of sweat, running down to the sea, bathing for an hour, going straight up to the chill-out area. Sleep and doze off untill it became human in the sun, so you could stomp at the main-stage. That´s the problem with the location this festival has had for a few years (Idahna-a-nova). There are like 10 trees at the whole festival area. No shades, and a sun that is boiling your skin from 8 am to 8 pm. One other thing, it´s a bit liberal in portugal. So everywhere! you go, you get people up to your face trying to sell lsd, dmt and other smokey, liquidy, labratory thingies. Cool for someone, not cool for me who is just there for the music, atmosphere and some alcohol. One other festival I can recommend is full-moon. A well-organized festival in my opinion. Me myself will probably try out a festival called freedom-festival in portugal, just because of the line-up. Check it out: www.freedom-festival.org
