New album by Oforia out on BNE...
|
Oforia (Ofer Dikovsky) from Israel is a pioneer in the psychedelic trance scene. Now he is back with his fourth Oforia album, this time on BNE in Israel.
Oforia "Headed For Infinity" BNE 2005 (YoYo065)
1. Northern Lights
2. Beams Of Light
3. Headed For Infinity
4. High Gear
5. Anti Gravity
6. Sirius
7. Machines Job
8. Cyber Hiker
9. Substance
The first track has a drifting, quite deep vibe. No typical Israeli cheese, just a massive bassline and pleasent sounds that will work well on the dance floors. Track 2 goes a little bit more fluffy. Some more uplifting sounds and melodies, still going in a full on direction. Track 3 starts nice and floating. This one has the album title. Here we get a beautiful morning trance track with a voice sample, very drifting vibe and a funny, uplifting melody. We also get some 303 acid sounds in there... Track 4 goes a little bit deeper. The bassline in this one is really massive and stumping. This one builds up a little too and becomes more and more melodic. Quite trippy, full on trance. You also get a little bit of clubby feeling with this one, just like most other Israeli full on trance coming out these days. Track 5 starts with some nice metallic, psychedelic sounds, before we get thrown into a really massive, full on drift. This one is really pumping with some really playful, jumpy sounds above.
Track 6 is quite intense, with some nice sounds and melodies. One of my favourite tracks on this album, and we get more variation here too. Track 7 is among the most hard pumping tracks on this album. Here we get some voice samples and a very jumpy vibe, probably a little bit inspired by Infected Mushroom. This track is pretty good, but some parts are a bit too clubby for my taste. Track 8 continues some of those Infected inspired sounds and ideas. This track is pretty dark, and would probably fit well at night, but also here we get thrown into a clubby vibe half way through the track, still with a bit more psychedelic touch than most other Israclubtrance. The last track Ofer gives us on this album starts with weird voice samples and funny sounds, before the full on beat starts pushing again. This one is among the most melodic tracks on this album. This track sounds really great, but half way through the track, a quite fluffy, clubby melody jumps in again, and sort of ruins the trippy drift.
This album is not among the best albums Oforia has released. On his first album, everybody got their ears up for this guy because of all his new ideas and creativity. In this album, you don’t find much new ideas at all, and it sounds a lot like most other Israeli full on trance these days. Except for that, you get some really groovy stuff with a massive sound that will probably hit the full on dance floors pretty well this summer.
