New compilation out on Turbo Trance Records, this time focusing on trance from Sweden...
|
Turbo Trance Records based in France is out with a new compilation. This time they are taking a look at Sweden, or Scandinavia as they say, but all the artists on this compilation is actually from Sweden! It is compiled by Chromosome (Anders Nilsson), also known as one half of Andromeda.
Trance Scandinavian Express (Turbo Trance Records) 2004 (TTRCD010)
1. Alternate Vision Vs. Z-Man – Back To Reality
2. Andromeda – Hypnotic Meeting Rmx
3. Artax – Mysterious Virus
4. Son-Kite – On Air (Deedrah Remix)
5. Tranan Vs. Z-Man – Who’s Who
6. Chromosome – Big Fat Giant Phantom
7. S-range – Hypermental
8. Logic Bomb – Tales From The Basement
9. S-Range – Testtones (Chromosome Remix)
First out is a collaboration between Alternate Vision and Z-Man. Alternate Vision is Johan Krafft, which is one half of Logic Bomb. Z-Man is Jonas Bergvall, who also has been involved in a lot of Logic Bomb tracks. This is a drifting melodic track going in a progressive trance tempo (130 bpm). Typical Logic Bomb vibe, with those trippy melodies and drifting beats. Nice one. Track 2 is by Andromeda, which Chromosome is a part of. Andromeda released their debut album (Temptations) on Yellow Sunshine Explosion this year, but the track we get here is not on the album. Andromeda surprised many with one of the best progressive trance albums released lately. This track goes the same trippy direction, but with a little bit more variation of sounds. Track 3 is by Artax (Lars Bergvall), which is probably the brother of Jonas Bergvall. This is a groovy, pumping track with a lot of Logic Bomb vibes. Drifting, melodic trance, somewehere between progressive and full on trance. Really nice, with a pretty happy vibe. Track 4 is by Son Kite (Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert). This is the famous On Air track, but remixed by Deedrah (Frederic Holyszewski). This version was also released on their CD single in the Colours series. This version sounds very much like some of his Synthetic tracks. Deep, kicking track, with a groovy bass line and some nice melodies. Great remix by Dado.
Track 5 is the other half of Logic Bomb (Jonas Petterson), here called Tranan. He has made this track together with Z-Man. This track is really great! Pretty scary with some mystic voice samples and weird sounds. The rhythms are stumpy and you get some kind of tribal feeling of the voice samples. Again you get this Logic Bomb vibe, with totally tripped out psychedelic sounds. Nice one. Track 6 is by Chromosome himself. Here he has gone to the full on style for a change, and made a pumping track with guitar samples, scary voices and a lot of weird, light melodies. Not among my favourites on this album, but not bad. Track 7 is by another Swedish artist, S-Range (Anthony Sillfors) who makes music somewhere between progressive and full on trance. The track we get here is pretty intense and drifting, with a couple of guitar sounds which makes the sound kind of trippy. Melodic full on trance that builds up from start to end. Track 8 is a new track by Logic Bomb. This one starts really beautiful with an atmospheric floating vibe. Then we get a stumping bass that drifts through the track with tons of twisted psychedelic sounds and melodies swirling in and out. Great to hear a new Logic Bomb track again! The last track we get on this compilation is another track by S-Range. Here he gives us a very floating, melodic track. Pretty massive full on, but not of the nagging kind, and it sounds almost like a progressive trance track. Nice finish on this Swedish compilation.
This compilation is definitely worth buying if you like the sound of Logic Bomb, since they are involved in a lot of these tracks. Melodic, trippy trance all the way, from progressive to full on. In my opinion, one of the better compilations Turbo Trance Records has released so far.
