New album out on Aurinko Records...!

Here is something for those who have missed trance releases from Aurinko Records lately. The first album by Four Carry Nuts, which is a collaboration between the experienced Tim Schuldt and Detlef Funder. They released several Four Carry Nuts tracks on various compilations a few years ago, but now they are finally back with an album.

Four Carry Nuts "Mechanical Age" Aurinko Records 2004 (AURCD04)

1. Hexagon
2. Mechanical Age
3. Falling Chains
4. Theory Of Gravitation
5. The System
6. Red Shift
7. Pendulum
8. Violet Ray
9. Convergence

The first track is a totally banging track that sounds just like some old hard melodic goa track. Sort of industrial influenced as usual from these guys, but with some nice melodies drifting in the heavy rhythms. It’s a long time since I heard someone releasing old school goa trance like this! Track 2 is a really pumping track. Pure night time trance, with mostly dark sounds and not much melody at all. In the middle of the track, we get some quite scary, floating parts too. A really great night time track! Track 3 follows the night time vibes with even harder pumping beats and darker sounds. Here we get the industrial influences back too. Some totally heavy guitars for the rock trancers out there. Track 4 goes a bit more experimental. Still trance, but quite different from most other trance released. A mystic, metallic vibe, and some really rough beats. Again pretty industrial influenced psytrance.

Track 5 has the most rough, dark rhythms I have ever heard! As far away from any morning trance you can ever get. Stumping rough beats, with some totally weird sounds swirling around. You also get plenty of guitar and even some rough vocals! This one goes almost away from trance. Reminds me a bit of The Delta, but this one is more rock influenced. Track 6 goes back to a more pumping trance style. Pretty drifting and with some lighter guitar melodies. A light break from the heavy rock machine trance. Track 7 goes back to the darker vibes. Massive bass line and a really scary melody. Nice one. Track 8 has a really evil, pumping bass line. Rough, dark, industrial trance. Pure horror night time trance all the way through. The last track on this album starts with some kind of tribal beats. It’s a pretty varied track, with some really nice melodies, some parts with heavy guitar and some relaxing floating breaks. If you wait a few minutes after the last track, you also get a hidden track! This is just some really weird sounds swirling around.

This album is a perfect gift if you want your rock friend to start listening to trance! But those who hate guitars should probably stay away from this one. This album is very different from all other psytrance being released these days. Refreshing!

just when you thought that it was physically impossible for artists to make anything else than the tired and old full-on sound here this comes. It's indsutrial influenced, but very varied, ranging from oldschool (Hexagon) to dark techtrance (Mechanical Age) to almost pure Rammstein-like industrial (The System) to fluffy almost commercial-like trance (Red Shift). The experience is absolutley incredible!! Although there are more dark tracks than "light" tracks, it all sounds really nice!! Also i couldn't stop thinking about Battle of the Future Buddhas when I was listening to this... so when's Schlabbaduerst gonna release a new comp???

anyway this gets 9/10 from me (personally I would've enjoyed more morning tracks...)
