Sirius Isness (Davina Elmosnino and Max Peterson) is a couple who have released quite a lot of full on tracks on various compilations on several labels lately. They are now out with their debut album on French Moon Spirits Records. This album was made mainly in Mexico, but they are now based in Spain.

Sirius Isness has got pretty good reputation after releasing some strong melodic full on tracks. The first track we get here goes the melodic full on direction, but doesn’t sound as interesting as some of the other tracks I have heard from them before. Massive full on, but with a lot of those nagging sounds that too many full on artists use these days. In other words, not very original use of sounds. We also get a light melody now and then, which is pretty nice. Track 2 gets better. This has a groovy heavy rolling bass line and a pretty drifting vibe, but could have been a bit more varied. Track 3 starts with a relaxing beautiful melody and some voice samples. Then suddenly a pumping beat starts pushing and we get some guitar. This sounds sort of simple in the beginning, but things get better after a couple of minutes when more psychedelic sounds jumps in and out of the track. Not among the best tracks I have heard from this couple. Track 4 starts with a female vocal which they twists a little bit. I have heard that melody before, but I can’t remember where. Then the groovy heavy bass line starts rolling. This one is definetely a better full on track. More crunchy sounds and drifting vibe. Some might think the vocals sound a bit cheesy, but I think it fits quite well into the track.
Track 5 goes darker. The bass line sounds much more evil and the sounds above sounds a bit more scary. Pure night time full on, but with cool melodies. This is more of the sound I expected on this album. Definetely one of my favourite tracks here. Track 6 continues the darker side of full on trance. A very pumping beat with pretty agressive sounds. It sounds very much like a lot of Israeli full on. The melodies in this one are pretty cool. Track 7 starts with some sexy female vocals too, which goes over in that typical heavy full on bass line. We get some atmospheric floating vibes, some breaks and full on melodies. The female vocals followes the track all the way through. Track 8 is another pumping full on track, with some kind of scary dark, floating sound above. Pretty cool night time full on. After a while we also get some light intense melodies, which will probably light up several full on dance floors this year. The last track they give us on this album goes to a lower bpm, but still has that full on vibe. Some nice psychedelic sounds swirls in and out, we get some voice samples and the melodies are very fluffy and light. Pure morning trance.
After hearing several really strong tracks by this couple on various compilations lately, I expected this album to be a bit less fluffy than what we get here. But there are some strong full on tracks to check out here too, and Sirius Isness is definetely one of the better acts on the melodic full on marked.
