Olli Wisdom is back with a new album on Spirit Zone...
|
Olli Wisdom is out with a new album on Spirit Zone Records as always. This album is also released on Solstice Music for the Japanese crowd. This guy releases one album each year. He sure is productive, but if he released lesser albums, maybe his tracks would have been a little better?

First out is a massive full on melodic track, with some crazy shouting samples now and then. Okay full on sound, but I feel that I have heard it so many times before! Some more creativity would be nice. Track 2 goes the same direction. Space Tribe sure likes melodies in his music, and I like that too. His music is some sort of mix between the old school goa trance and the full on madness of today. I like this track better. Some refreshing sounds and a nice drift of melodies. Track 3 is a track he has done together with Boris Blenn (Electric Universe). This one is very melodic, and reminds me a lot of the old goa style, but the beats are ten times stronger. You can almost hear from the sounds that Electric Universe is involved. Track 4 has a very GMS alike vibe. Strong, heavy rolling bas line, and those screaming full on sounds and melodies. Personally I’m a bit tired of this style, but the melody in this one sounds pretty cool now and then.
Track 5 has the album title. This is a heavy rolling monster, with less melodies. But it builds up a little after a while. It’s not among the best tracks on this album. Track 6 is back to melodic goa trance again, with a touch of the modern full on sound. This sure is something for those who miss the old melodic style. Crazy melodies above the heavy beats all the way through. He has made track 7 with the psytrance pop stars, GMS (Riktam and Bansi), or masters of full on as other people like to call them. And yes, they were pioneers with this style, but after they started making this music, all their tracks sounds very similar to each other. The track we get here is no exception. If you still aren’t tired of the GMS madness, you will for sure like this one too, but personally I get easily bored of it. The last track on this album doesn’t give us any rest either. Full on with a little crazier sounds than the previous tracks. Away from that, it doesn’t sound much different from the rest of the tracks on this album.
Don’t expect any surprises on this album. If you liked his previous 3-4 albums, you will probably like this one too. You know what you get when you buy a Space Tribe record. Full on melodic trance. Personally I enjoy his live performances more than having this in my collection.
