First out is a track directly from Ibiza by several well known acts, Celli Firmi, Paul Taylor, Tavis Buschman and Wayan Blue. This track is called Waking Life, after the movie Waking Life. A pretty cool animation movie about lucid dreaming. I watched it last weekend, and it was really interesting. It was also shown at Samothraki Dance Festival 2003. The track is pretty full on, with some melodic parts and a few voice samples about lucid dreaming. Track 2 is my favourite track on this album. A great new track by Silicon Sound (Johannes Reigner) from France. A really nice full on, totally melodic track, but not in a cheesy way. You get a tribal female voice and a nice floating vibe. Track 3 is by the artist from India, called Boombaycentral (Tarun Shahani). It starts with some weird sounds, tribal drums and hard banging rhythms. Then we get a sample from a well known pop song; I feel good…. This track is pretty twisted. Track 4 is by Parasense from Russia. You will probably expect some really dark and minimal stuff from those guys, but this track is actually really varied and melodic! First melodic track I have heard from them. In my ears the best Parasense track I have heard so far.
Then it is time for some trance from Portugal, a collaboration between Suria and Audialize. This is darker stuff. Hard rolling rhythms, and dark twisted sounds. Full on all the way. In my opinion a bit too noisy full on. Track 6 is by Shift (Chris Hoy) from South Africa. This is also dark, noisy full on. Track 7 by Paranormal Attack is a bit lighter, but still totally full on. This one has got some really crazy melodies. Pretty cool track. Then we get a track many of you have already heard if you went to any big psytrance festivals this summer. A track GMS and Space Tribe has made together called The Third Eye. Some sort of summer hit I have heard many times this summer. It starts really beautiful with a tribal vibe, before the typical GMS drift hits in. You get all the usual take offs and melodic full on parts. The last track is by Artax from Sweden, which is Lars Bergvall. A tribal voice and rhythm drift that sounds a bit like Logic Bomb. Melodic and drifting.
This compilation surprised me. It seems like they have got their hands on some really good tracks to make this compilation. Several great melodic full on tracks, much better than I expected.
