Second compilation is out on Maia Records...

Maia Records is out with their second compilation, or actually their third, since it was called Sound Sorcery Records before, and they released one compilation under that name (Time And Space Pt. 1). As usual the compilation is full of pretty well known psytrance acts.

First out is one of a few Mexican artists, D-Tek (David Durst) who is probably most known for his pretty special track (Psychedelic Cowboy) on the Assassi:Nations compilation on TIP.World 2001. The track we get from him here is not that weird. Very groovy and not much varied. Very much like the Alien Project style or maybe I should say Israeli style. Track two is by Sesto Sento (Matan Kadosh, Aviram Sahari & Itay Spector) from Israel, who is everywhere these days on a lot of different compilations. The track we get here is typical Sesto sento, with heavy rolling rhythms all the way. You get some more psychedelic sounds in this one, but I miss some more variation. Track 3 is by two others from Israel, Pixel vs Intelabeam (Eli Biton Tal and Danny Keinan). This one sounds a bit more melodic and hard banging. It builds up and we get breaks. Best track on this compilation so far. Track 4 is by another group who has released quite a lot lately, Altöm (Alexis Cornet and Thomas Dubreuil) from Paris, France. This track starts nice and floating, before the groovy rhythms starts rolling. I like the sounds in this one, floating in and out of the track. Track 5 is by Polaris, also from Paris, France. This one is faster. Reminds me a bit of the GBU style, with some funky drifting sounds in between the heavy rolling rhythms.
Track 6 is sort of a new collaboration between several well known artists, Thomas Dubreuil (Altöm), Celli Firmi (Earthling and Vatos Locos) and dj Dede. They call themselves T.C.D…. The track doesn`t sound as interesting as I had hoped. It sounds just like most other full on trance these days, but without any crazy melodies. Just really heavy rolling bass lines. Track 7 is another track by D-Tek from Mexico. A fast stumper with full on ingredients I am starting to get too much used to. Pretty good full on track, but it sounds like too much I have heard before. The Spanish voice samples sounds a bit cool. Track 8 is by Skazi (Asher Swissa) from Israel. I have to admit that I am not a big fan of music made by Skazi. I think it sounds too much like some cheesy hard house. This track doesn`t change my mind either… The last track on this album is a well known track (Mescalito) by The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, but here we get a remix by GMS (of course). I think I have heard enough of this track already, and another remix by GMS isn`t exactly what I needed. This version sounds more full on than the original and you get the usual GMS sounds jumping in and out of it.
In my opinion, the two first compilations were much better than this. They have for sure put in a lot more Israeli stuff in this one than the others, but I don`t think that is the reason why it`s not that good. I just think the artists could have made some more variation in their tracks, since I know they can do better than this.

Nice review by p... i dont agree with all the comments so heres my opinion, maia recods is one of he 5 o maybe more records labels in latin america or maybe the whole american continent so its very intresting see whats happening latin american labels, maia records is the precursor of psychedelic trance in mexico so thats why they come wit their third realese.
i find p... review really poor, its easy to make a review of a compilation if you dont know the background of the country the compilation comes from.
this compilation includes probably the most important or at least more famous artist in world wide scene with some newcomers like intlabeam, d.tek, and well known pixel, actual former of dual head,the compilation comes with interesting tracks like "we can still make it change" as p... said doesnt sound very interesting but definetly does the work in the dancefloor, definetly a result of an interesting colaboration that could be better, pixel and intelabeam give this interesting minimal, acid power track that pumps th dancefloor very good, d-tek comes with two tracks , el santo very interesting track ith some samples in spanish wihich i belive is to give spanish spokers some tracks with spanish samples thats is rare to find, and why not the samples are really funny, and the other track is data error , i agree with p... sounds very israeli alittle boring but definetly does the work on th dancefloor definetly puts the poaple on dancing, gbu- mescalito nice track but e remix doesnt sound that intersting some changes in bass and some changs in the synth melody , sounds like growlymonizer - eject, altom and polaris come wth nice funky tracks definetly does the morning happier, and tracks from sesto sento and skazi that wouldnt put in this compilation , the tracks sound old and very weak, not very interesting.
we expect th d-ek album debut that will come to our cd players on december world wide probably on next year, and nxt compilation that probably will come in april, both from maia records, remember this label is from mexico city who has been colaborating with some other labels lik spun, tip, solstice, with th relase of some music, expect more from latinamerican artists and remeber america its not like europe we are diferent people difrent sounds, diferent coulture, expect more you wont get disapointed, expect ap records psycomex compilation, and new psyclon records(mexican label) fisrt release
