Xerox is out with a mixed cd on Hommega Productions...

Hommega Productions in Israel is out with a new mixed compilation. This time Xerox (Moshe Keinan) has done the work with compiling and mixing together a dj set of ten tracks, most of them made by himself. He has released three albums as Xerox and one album as Maskalin. He has also compiled another compilation for Hommega (In My Brain).

7 Eleven (Hommega Productions 2003) (YOYO057)

1. Melicia – Running Out Of Time
2. Xerox – Out Of The Blue
3. Intergalactic – The Mushroom
4. Xerox & Illumination – Marley On Acid
5. Xerox & Illumination – Domination
6. Xerox – Frequency Drive (Hujaboy Remix)
7. Spectrum – The World
8. Maskalin – Time Reverse
9. Xerox – There Is Another
10. Maskalin – High Fusion

First out is a pretty unknown artist called Melicia (Aviram Iluz). It starts floating and dark, before some dark banging rhythms comes in. It goes pretty hard and dark all the way. Track 2 by Xerox is more melodic, but in a dark very full on way. Pretty cool track for those of you who still want some of the old style influences. Then we get a track by Intergalactic (Vic Shefi). This one goes very full on too, in a sort of minimal way. If you want some really hard banging psytrance, check out this artist. It has some scary voice samples and really heavy basslines. Track 5 is a project Xerox has done together with another Israeli artist called Illumination (Amir Dvir). In this one you get some nice breaks and it doesn`t go as full on as the track before. It has some pleasant, pretty full on melodies too. Take a look at the title of this track… Track 5 is also made by Xerox and Illumination. This one is harder and darker. Totally dark night time trance.

Track 6 is another track Xerox has made alone, but here we get a remix by Hujaboy (Nir Shoshani). Hujaboy likes to go the more minimal way, and that`s what you get here. Stumpy minimal trance. Spectrum is to be found on a lot of compilations these days. Here we get it in track 7. Rolling heavy basslines, with a few breaks and nice melodies. It has a nice build up with melodies too. Sort of a morning track. Track 8 is by Maskalin, which is another project by Xerox, in a collaboration with Izik Benisty. A very pumping track with some nice psychedelic sounds. Very trancey track with more variation through the track than the others on this compilation. Then we get another Xerox track. This one is pretty stumpy with some crazy guitar mixed in. One of my favourites on this compilation. The last track in this mix is another Maskalin track. And this is a good one! If you want some nice goa melodies again, here you get them. Very nice melodic finish of the mix.

This mixed compilation is a must for you Xerox fans out there. Something for those of you who like dark Israeli trance. Personally Im not very happy about mixed cds, but it sure can be pleasant from time to time. I missed some more variation and melodies, but away from that, a good mix.
