Another chilled compilation is out on Liquid Sound Design...

Releases from the side label of Dragonfly, Liquid Sound Design (LSD), is always interesting. Now they are out with another chilled compilation, compiled by Humph. As usual, Youth has drawn a couple of nice pictures for the cover art.

First out is a track by Nada, which is a collaboration between Russel T. Davies and Humphrey Bacchus. This has got some nice dub rhythms and a really beautiful Indian female voice. Very pleasant and relaxing. Track 2 is by a group called Mantra Man. Not a known name for me, but they give us a pretty nice melodic track, with a lot of sitar. Track 3 is another track by Nada. This is my favourite track on this compilation. It starts with a nice ambient sound, floating in a pleasant way. Then we get a beautiful voice and nice relaxing dub rhythms. After a few minutes, you get a wonderful flute too. For sure one of the better chill out tracks of 2003! Track 4 is surprisingly by Loop Guru, a group that has released music for many years already. Here we get a remix by Youth and Humph. A nice dub track, with some Indian vocals and reggae inspired sounds.
Track 5 is by Tripswitch (Nick Brennan). This one is really slow floating ambient, with a lot of variation in sounds. You get some ethnic vocals too. Great track. Then Nada gives us one more track. Groovy dub with really nice sounds and melodies. Nada is really good! Maybe they should release a full length album? Track 7 is by Jonathan Dagan (J. Views), which is one of the two guys in Violet Vision. He gives us a beautiful track with some pleasant guitar and nice melodies. Track 8 is by one of my favourite chill out artists these days, Adham Shaikh. This track was released on his album Essence, released as a limited edition album on Sonicturtle Music. Here you get another version of the track Somptin Hapnin. In the original you get more female vocals. A great track with pleasant flute, bass and dubby tribal rhythms. Track 9 is by one of the most talented artists out there, Benji Vaughan (Prometheus, also known as Younger Brother). He gives us a nice chilled track with vocals by Michelle Adamson, who also sings in Shpongle and Younger Brother. This is really beautiful and relaxing. Nick Brennan (Tripswitch) finishes this compilation with one more track. A nice atmospheric track with piano, floating sounds and a few tribal drums. Great track.
Liquid Sound Design gives us another great chill out compilation here. A great choice for your chill out in the sun this summer, in the park or wherever you want to relax.
