Transient Records is out with another compilation...

This time, dj Junya from Phantasm Records has compiled it, with both pretty unknown names and very well known artists.

Reloaded (Transient Records 2003) TRANR643CD

1. Star X – Multy Form
2. Triptych – Something better
3. GMS – Who Am I?
4. Jumanji – Retro Crumpet
5. Dj Mael – Welcome To Paradise
6. Mumbo Jumbo – Screamin Abdabz
7. Horizon – Atari
8. Talamasca – Panic In Melbourne
9. Polaris – Take Off

First out is Eran Hennenberg who calls himself Star X. It starts off pretty atmospheric and floating, before some Alien Project alike rolling rhythms comes in, and follows the track the rest of the way. You get a little melody now and then too. Pretty nice morning track, but nothing surprising with this one. Track 2 is made by Charles Michaud (Triptych), releasing music on Turbo Trance Records. His track is a bit more full on, with some guitar and moving melodies. Typical Israeli style, how it sounds these days. GMS are represented in this compilation too (no surprise..). They give us track nr. 3. Typical full on killer bass lines and a lot of noisy full on melodies. Not much different from other GMS tracks. Track 4 is an interesting collaboration between Junya (Eskimo) and Dick Trevor. Together they call themselves Jumanji. This is a groovy banging track with a melody that sounds a bit weak. Track 5 is by dj Mael, most known as Nomad. He serves full on, but not of the varied kind, but a pretty cool track.

Track 6 is by Mumbo Jumbo who released an album on Turbo Trance Records earlier this year. This track is not on the album. Mumbo Jumbo is an interesting collaboration between Bilbo Bagginz (Cosmosis) and Mitch Davies. Not among the best Mumbo Jumbo tracks I have heard. Pretty groovy, with some really nice sounds, but it doesn`t vary as much as I would like to have it from these guys. Track 7 is Junya (Eskimo) again, this time together with dj Zorflux. They call themselves Horizon. This one is pretty hard banging, with some tribal drums above the bass lines and a nice sound of wind. Full on, but not much melodies. Track 8 is surprisingly by Talamasca (dj Lestat). He releases his third album on 3D Vision Records this month, but this track is not on any of his albums. This track is one of the harder ones I have heard from this guy. Not as melodic as usual, but still it is melodic, and you get some cool sounds and a dark sound picture. The last track on this compilation is made by Polaris (Arnaulds Stengel). It starts slow with sounds from space. Then a really kicking bass line rolls in, together with some tribal drums. A pretty dark track. Something for those of you who want it full on and dark, but not very varied.

This compilation is pretty average. No killer tracks, just a steady quality. This is what most psytrance produced today sounds like.
