Dj Lestat is out with his third album, this time on 3D Vision again...
|
Ok, here is something many have looked forward to! The third album by Talamasca (Cedric Dassulle aka dj Lestat)! He released his first album in 2000 (Beyond The Mask) on 3D Vision. Then he released his second album (Musica Divinorum) on Swedish Spiral Trax Records in 2001, and now he is back on 3D Vision again, releasing his third album called Zodiac. Talamasca is known for full on 3D Vision trance, but with much more melodies than most trance released by other full on 3D Vision artists.

First out is surprisingly a very rock influenced full on track, with lots of guitar! You also get really pushing rhythms and some nice psychedelic melodies. Track 2 is more like a typical Talamasca track. Pushing rhythms and breaks now and then, picking up new uplifting melodies and sounds. If you liked the earlier Talamasca releases, this track will fit to your taste. Track 3 has a groovy bass line, and some nice funky melodies come into the track. This track is one of the most melodic tracks on this album. The melodies sort of builds up during the track. Track 4 has some nice tribal drums around the heavy rolling bass lines. The melody in this track reminds me a bit of a famous Etnica track! At the end, the melodies becomes maybe too much for some people. It sure reminds me of good old melodic goa trance, but some of it might get too cheesy for some people. Track 5 gets darker, with darker melodies and sounds. This one will for sure do great things on the dance floors! Full on all the way, with cool psychedelic pleasant sounds.
Track 6 follows the dark way, but is slightly more psychedelic and varied than track 5. I really enjoy the sounds and melodies in this one. It has a really trippy travelling vibe. Track 7 is really pushing. Rhythms rolling really heavy and a dark sound picture. The melodies in this one sounds kind of scary, like some kind of horror movie! Track 8 is a rolling track, and even more full on, with a lot of noisy sounds and kind of scary melodies. Track 9 follows on in the same full on style. Maybe lesser melodic than most Talamasca tracks. Track 10 is my favourite track on this album! I love those swirling psychedelic sounds around the trancey rhythms, and the weird melodies coming in. After a couple of minutes you also get a little silent break, before we really get thrown into full on dancing again. Great track! Track 11 has some kind of atmospheric vibe. It varies a lot through the track, and the last half has some really nice melodies. Cedric finishes his album with a progressive trance track, and he sure knows how to handle this style too. It has a really pleasant floating vibe, perfect for dancing in the morning sun.
I enjoyed a lot of the tracks on this album! Talamasca still makes great quality trance for sure. You don`t get any huge totally mind blowing tracks like “The Old School” on this album, but you will for sure enjoy a lot of them if you like the full on melodic style of Talamasca.
