Chill out master Adham Shaikh is releasing a limited edition album on his own label Sonicturtle Music...
|
Adham Shaikh is one of the most talented chill out artists out there. He has mostly released music on Canadian Interchill Records. Now he is out with a limited edition album on Sonicturtle Music (Socan). This album is dedicated to the sacredness of water.
Adham Shaikh "Essence" Sonicturtle Music 2002 (ST10762)
1. Somptin Hapnin (Water In Me)
2. Sabaddub
3. Constellation (Warp Time Remix)
4. Orcadrift Remix
5. Sabadhi
6. Sufi Spin
7. Shiraz (Evolution Mix)
Adham has collaborated with many different musicians on this album to create an organic chilled vibe. The first track sounds a bit like trip hop, of the kind Morcheeba is making. Kinnie Starr is singing with her beautiful voice and she has made the lyrics. Track 2 is a chilled floating dub track with a lot of beautiful flute. Track 3 is a remix of a track by Legion Of Green Men. Some tribal voices, nice chilling drums and relaxing electronic melodies and sounds. Very nice. Track 4 is also released on the Floatation compilation on Interchill Records 2001. A fantastic nice ambient track, with a deep chilling vibe. Track 5 is a remix of a track by Lisa Walker. Very organic beautiful chill out. Track 6 has Balinese recordings of Keychak and flute by Kenyon Field. He recorded it on his trip to Bali in 1998. Relaxing tabla rhythms and a happy chilling vibe. The last track on the albaum has a lot of beautiful electronic sounds which reminds me a bit of old Autechre releases, some tabla rhythms and fantastic flute. A great track.
This album is really great! If you are into Interchill releases, this sure is something for you. Beautiful organic chill out all the way.
