Unwind

Top level Music reviews Chill out/ambient reviews

Com.Pact Records in Israel mostly releases full on trance music. Now they are out with thir first chill out compilation, which is compiled by DJ Auspexx, who has been in the trance scene for a long time allready. On this compilation, we get some chilled tracks by the usual trance artists on Com.Pact, but also some new fresh names. The cover art this time is in my opinion the best cover art Com.Pact has had so far, because I’m usually not very impressed by their strange animated figures... This compilation is mixed.

1. Solarians – Spring Thing
2. Tribalistic Society – Aarhus On A Sunday Afternoon
3. T.K.Y. – Long Before This Day
4. U&K – Sähkövalo
5. Lish – Blue
6. Sunfire – Electronic
7. Visual Paradox – GaYo (2005 Remake)
8. T.K.Y. Vs. Max Maxwell – Twilight
9. Wilson Stout – Helpless (Dini Dub Mix)
10. Sesto Sento – Slow Move
11. Psionyx – Delmos Vista
12. The Misted Muppet – Defender Of The Past

Most of the artists you find on this compilation isn’t very known in the chill market, but it seems like Auspexx has done a pretty good job digging out some nice chilled tracks here. Many of these artists are mostly known for their trance releases, so it’s interesting to hear their way of doing chill out music. Most of these tracks is realxing lounge chill, with quite easy digestible melodies etc., but with some beautiful moments. Not of the very psychedelic kind, but something that should fit well at your local coffee shop, café etc. I will for sure put some of these tracks in my cafe sets... Here you get dubby tracks, melancholic vibes, jazzy influences and a pretty nice journey of easy listening.

It’s very nice to see that Com.Pact tries out something different for a change, and for me, this chill compilation sounds much more interesting than most of their trance releases. There are also a more global touch to it compared to most other Com.Pact releases with almost pure Israeli artists all the way. Despite that most of these names are new to the chill out area, Auspexx has done a pretty good job selecting loungy chill with some feelings.
