Music reviews
Trancelucent Productions in Israel has had some great success lately, with the album releases of Etic and The Misted Muppet. Now they are back with a new full on compilation full of Israeli acts, which is compiled by the label manager dj Homsy.
Cyber Delica (Trancelucent Productions) 2004 (TP010)
1. Noga – Inteligent Species
2. Bizzare Contact Vs. Dooper Doopler – Hallucinating
3. Aquatica – The Access Code
4. Electro Sun – Vanilla
5. System Nipel – Radiance
6. The Misted Muppet – Night Wish
7. Uriel – Discobles
8. Paradigma – Isolated
9. Visual Paradox Vs. Bizzare Contact – Tarim Taof
First out is a new track by Noga (Noga Sudai). The rolling, full on bass line starts pushing very sudden from the beginning. This track isn’t too melodic, but there is some fluffy sounds in there. This one could easily had some more variation, but it is quite groovy. Track 2 is a collaboration between Bizzare Contact and Dooper Doopler. This one goes the traditional full on direction too, but with quite a lot of variation and some kind of take offs, which will probably result in some good moments at the dance floors. Track 3 is a new track by Aquatica (Elad Asy). This one goes much darker, with a harder bass line. Quite trippy track, which goes more towards the night time style than the other tracks on this album. Still with some pretty fluffy melodies. Track 4 is a track by Electro Sun ( Nadav Alkayam), which is a quite new, upcoming Israeli artist. It starts pretty relaxed with a floating vibe, before the groovy bassline hits in. Here we get the guitar trance style, but luckily not too much. A massive full on track, but without much variation. I’m not a big fan of guitar trance like this. Track 5 is a track made by a new artist called System Nipel (Rubi Yakubov and Anton Lunev). This one is a pure morning trance track, but doesn’t become too fluffy like it often do. One of the better tracks on this compilation in my opinion.
Track 6 is a new track by The Misted Muppet (Dagan Israeli and Tal Hassidi) who released a very surprising album called From The Legend, on Trancelucent Productions earlier this year. They have a unique horror movie vibe in their tracks. The track we get here is not on the album. Here they follow the horror movie sound again. Pretty cool, and different from most other full on being released these days. Track 7 is a new track by Uriel (Uriel Ginzburg). A stumping track with some really weird sounds. It has some voice samples, which makes the track quite clubby. Track 8 is made by another upcoming duo called Paradigma (Toni Levi and Rafi Muader). This is a melodic track that kind of builds up a little. Full on, but without too much new ideas and variety. It reminds me a little bit of old school, melodic Israeli trance. The last track on this compilation is a collaboration between Visual Paradox and Bizzare Contact. If you are into releases on Com.Pact Records, you should be very familiar with these artists and their sound. The track we get here is very jumpy, with some funny, playful melodies, but nothing extarordinary. At the end it changes to a pretty cheesy club track.
I was a little bit dissappoited by this compilation when I compare it to the strong releases we got on this label earlier this year by The Misted Muppet and Etic. But, you get what you expect when you see the track list on this compilation. Very typical Israeli full on trance, which we have heard many times before.
