Kompset is probably pretty unknown for most people out there, but they have made music since the beginning of the nineties and released a couple of tracks on various compilations. First out is a stumpy track. Pushing bass line, but not much sounds or melodies. Track 2 goes the same direction. Very minimal psytrance. There are some tiny psychedelic sounds, but they sort of drown in the bass line. Track 3 is also a minimal, stumpy track. This one has some more variety of sounds, but the sounds doesn’t impress me much. Pretty dark style. In my opinion it sounds really boring, but I’m sure there some people out there who enjoy this kind of minimal trance. Track 4 has bit more full on vibe, some better sounds and melodies. Best track on this album in my opinion.

Track 5 has some tribal drums above the stumpy bass line. Cool enough, but away from that the track sounds sort of simple. Track 6 gets better, with a more psychedelic feel and a better drift. The melody in this one is pretty cool too. In track 7, they have put in some weirder sounds, but this sounds pretty boring in my ears. Very repetitive. Track 8 gives us some more tribal influences again. We also get some voice samples and a heavy, stumpy bass line. Not much variation here either. They finish the album with a really minimal track. Not much variation to be found here.

Sorry folks, but this is the worst album I have heard in a long time! I am sure there are some minimal lovers out there who will like this, but think it’s just a boring album. Where is the creativity?
