Filur is a solo project of Sebastian Mullaert from Sweden. He is most known for his chilled OOZE project (with the album Where the Fields Never End, released on Spirit Zone 2001) and his Son-Kite project, which is a trance project he does together with Marcus Henriksson. Now he is out with a Filur single on the Danish label Iboga Records.
Filur "Together Again" Iboga Records 2003 (IBOGAEP28)
A. Reefer Decree – Curved Air (Filur Remix)
B. Together Again
On the A side, we get a track originally made by Reefer Decree, but here Filur has remixed it. This is tribal progressive trance, with nice tribal rhythms above the bass line. It has a pleasant sound picture. Pretty floating and really trancey. After a few minutes we get a nice little melody that comes into the track slowly. Relaxing and danceable at the same time. We also get a nice break in the track, before the rhythms starts rolling again.
On the B side, we get a Filur track he has called Together again. It starts with some cool drumming and small guitar alike sounds, before some pretty hard stompy rhythms comes in. Another progressive trance track. This is a groovy trance track with light floating sounds around the rhythms. Then we get a little break with a few sounds that sounds a lot like the music of OOZE. Then the rhythms starts pumping again, and it builds up slowly and pleasant.
This single is pretty nice if you are into progressive trance. Iboga Records in Demark sure knows how to pick out some progressive grooves for their releases.
