Blissful Moments

Top level Music reviews Psytrance reviews

Finland is surprising these days with a lot of interesting releases. A new label called Tranceform Records is now out with their first compilation. The cover art is really beautiful with a picture of a Finnish lake in the morning sun. With this compilation they are focusing on the blissful moments of mornings at memorable outdoor parties in Finland. Inside the cover, there are some beautiful pictures from some of their parties too.

Most of the artists on this compilation are unknown for most people. Most of them are from Finland and Sweden. First out is Ypsilon 5 (David Lilja) from Sweden. He gives us a melodic track, with the sound of good old melodic goa. The kind of rhythms we got in most trance tracks around 1996. There are so many people who miss the good old melodic trance, and that`s what you get here. It builds up with intense pushing rhythms. Then the melodies come in. This sounds like Israeli trance. Nice to hear that some people still make trance like this. Track 2 is by a guy from Finland. It has a nice start with some Indian vocals and sitar. Then we get the trance rhythms and a lot of melodies. Another track in the good old school full on goa style. If you like totally melodic madness, this sure is something for you. I think it`s great to hear such crazy trance again! Track 3 is by Xervana (Olof Lönnroth), who is another Swedish trance act who has released some material on Tsunami Productions. This track is a very pleasant morning goa track. As melodic as it can get, but not in a cheesy way. If you like the old Astral Projection releases with a new touch, this is really recommended.

Track 4 is a big surprise. It is by two Finnish guys called Poly 61. It starts very floating and beautiful, with nice wonderful sounds and guitar for the first minutes. Then some pumping rhythms come in, still with all the beautiful floating sounds around. I can imagine that this one would be great in the sunrise! It has a lot of pleasant guitar too. These guys has also released tracks on Finnish Thirteen Productions, and Greek Devic Craft Records. Track 5 by Ethereal, two Swedish guys, is a very trancey and floating track. Fast, but pleasant and very melodic. Track 6 by Aquasphere (Jim Granlund from Sweden) gives us a melodic beautiful progressive track. Very floating morning trance. Track 7 is by a guy from Zew Zealand called Vast (Bernie Eller). He gives us another old style melodic goa track. Very pleasant for home listening and for dancing in the sun. The last track on this compilation is another track by Ethereal from Sweden. This is a relaxed chill out track. Just floating with beautiful sounds all the way.

This album is a positive surprise. Something for all the people who miss melodic goa trance, or want something different from most psytrance released these days. Perfect for home listening and for out door partying in the morning sun.
