Spirit Zone is out with another psytrance compilation. As usual, dj Antaro has picked out the tracks. He has changed style a bit on this one, and gone from the more progressive side of psytrance, to more full on style.

2. Bio-Tonic - Dynamic Bounces

7. Space Trive vs. Electric Universe - Alkaloid Experiment
8. S-Range - Microchip 23
First out is the Brazil track by Bamboo Forest. They were supposed to come out with their album last summer, but since Flying Rhino went bankrupt, the album was never released except for a few promos. Let`s hope another label will release it soon! The Brazil track is not among the best Bamboo Forest tracks I have heard, but it`s not bad either. Some brazilien samba influences, some relaxing sounds and the typical drifting Bamboo Forest rhythms. Track 2 is a new Bio-Tonic track. Bio-Tonic are three guys from France, who came out with their debut album on Japanese Solstice Music last year. This track is not on the album. Very hard beats from them as usual. Like most of the tracks on their album, their music doesn`t change much during the track, so it becomes boring pretty fast. Track 3 is by Echotek from Israel (Micha Yossef). This is a bit minimal. Rolling heavy rhythms, but not much happens. The Japanese guy Kuro has made psytrance from the early beginning of Goa trance. He still releases music. Here is a new one. It goes the same style as Echotek. Techno influenced psytrance, not very varied.
Track 5 is by those growling mass producing scientists Riktam and Bansi (GMS). They are everywhere these days, so this is no surprise. The track Shrek is not on their latest album, but probably on some other compilations. Typical full on GMS madness as always. I`m getting tired of it, so I just skip to the next track which is by Saafi Connection. This is Mishel Biton who released his debut Saafi Connection album earlier this year. He follows the typical GMS style all the way. Heavy rhythms and psycho screaming sounds now and then. Luckily he has put in some floating beautiful parts, which make the track pretty nice all together. Track 7 is a collaboration between Boris Blenn (Electric Universe) and Olli Wisdom (Space Tribe). They sort of hold on to the old goa style, which is nice. Full on all the way, some melodic parts and a lot of cool sounds. Nice track! Antaro finishes this compilation with a progressive track by S-Range. Pretty nice tribal progressive trance.
This compilation is an average one. Not bad, but not great either. I don`t know but it seems like Spirit Zone know how to pick out talented artists, but they rarely pick out those great tracks when they make their compilations.
